Have you had your veggies?

The semester is almost over!  I am SO sorry for the long delay in posts :(  I plan on doing much more during my break! :)

I am not one of those people who really enjoy eating my vegetables...  So to trick myself, I did something a little different.

Here is something I tried with the carrots from my family’s garden that my mom and I dug up late fall.  I cleaned them then juiced them and put the carrot juice into a mini muffin tin.  Now every time I make a smoothie I plop a frozen carrot “muffin” into my smoothies.  It’s really good! :)

Other add ins I use are raspberries and strawberries I froze.  Sometimes it can be hard to use up all of the fruit before they go bad.  Next time lay the fresh berries on a cookie sheet and throw it in the freezer.  When they are hard put them in a Ziploc.  It works great!

Thank you everyone who is still following me and bearing with me! I love you!

One thing that I am obsessed with besides my Obsessive Creative Disorder, is the TV show Supernatural!!  This past weekend I got to see a lot of the stars at Creation Entertainment's, Salute to Supernatural convention!!!!

I got to see many of the supporting actors and actresses as well as Dean and Sam themselves!  I got autographs and lots of pictures!!

I also Participated in the costume contest!

Me before:

Me after:  I’m a crossroad demon ;)

I didn’t win. lol

Then Sunday both Jensen and Jared were there!

It was so much fun to see them and talk to them personally!

I also got my picture taken with the two of them, I should get it in the mail soon :D

I have a funny story about the photo ops…

When I get super nervous I tend to “black out”…

So when I got up to take my picture with them I felt like I was drugged!! I don’t remember anything! lol.  Ugh…

I am glad I remember talking to them while getting their autograph though :)

Have you ever had a fangirl moment??

OCD Creations

In the beginning of October I sold my creations at my first event,

Ringle Harvest Day!

I named my little business OCD Creations :) I sold mainly headbands and clothes. I did pretty well!

Here is my display:

I spray painted old Styrofoam head forms gold and my mom let me use her glass one.

I hope to put some on Etsy… once I figure out how to use it! :)

Reusable “Ziploc” Bag

I’ve seen these on Etsy and around the Blog World.  It’s a reusable snack bag that I plan to put in my purse for any quick snacks I need. :)
All I used to make this was cotton fabric, vinyl, Velcro, my sewing machine, and some rick-rack.
In order to make it reusable and easy to wash, all of the seams have to be on the outside. So I sewed the Vinyl and cotton together to make two squares and then sewed the Velcro to the tops of the squares. Then I sewed both squares together on the outside, leaving the Velcro ends unsewed.
Then I folded the fabric in to make a clean edge (above) and sewed the rick-rack to pretty it up. :)
Shiny vinyl that will be easy to clean when I turn it inside out!

Here is a great tutorial done by Anna of Anna Can Cook.
Her’s turned out great!  Check it out here: Reusable Ziploc Bag.

Ribbon Organizer out of Recycled Baby Food Jars

So it turns out all this time I thought I had.. Yea.. Not so much.

So I’m sorry It’s been so long. :(

If you remember, I work at a daycare in the infant room.  And I hate throwing away those cute little baby food containers.

So I threw them in the dishwasher and spray painted them.

Here is my previous ribbon storage…

I cut a hole and lined it with purple tape.

Then I filled it with the ribbon.

The leaning tower of Gerber containers :)

Is there anything you just can throw away? :)

I’m pretty excited about most of my classes this semester! The one I am most excited for is Organic Botany.  I can’t wait to get into more of the topics! It’s all about Organic agriculture and also the sociological aspects of the organic choice. I’m excited!

Speaking or organic, I've been enjoying some of the the delicious veggies my mom and I planted in our garden!  I think it always tastes better knowing where it came from. :)
Here is a picture of some of our tomatoes! Check out what my mom has to say about them on her blog.
Do you think its important to buy local/organic?
